being good at something again.

last night i had my first spanish class of the semester. (i signed up for an entry-level spanish class, fyi.)

let’s be clear: i know more spanish than most college freshman majoring in the stuff, but it’s been a long time since i had formal schooling in it, so i wanted to get back in on the ground floor and just take spanish. get the tenses down. learn to differentiate between por and para; between estar and ser. you know.

we started with the alfabeto.

oh man. i rock at the spanish alfabeto.

so much so that the ladies next to me asked me for help and thanked me profusely for being so awesome. they even told me i should be teaching the class.

i had a fantastic time. it was like being in kindergarten again. everything was fun, and easy. i should have brought crayons.

it really rocks being undeniably, indisputably awesome at something. in front of other people. it’s a great feeling. i came home refreshed and happy. i even took the dog for a run, rather than hiding in bed.

god i love learning languages. especially the ones i already kind of know.
